2020-2021 PL Teaching and Learning Series

October 15, 2020

Session 1: Participating in the 2020 Election

The election provides an excellent opportunity to teach about civics and how government works, as well as basic skills, including reading, writing, critical thinking, and leadership development. Whether your students can vote or not, they can play a role during this major civics event. At this webinar, you will get access to FREE, ready-to-use materials (developed by The Change Agent), including an elections-oriented project-based learning opportunity that will help you teach basic skills in a way that is grounded in relevant, peer-written content. (These materials will be available in both PDF format as well as in Google slides, which you can adapt for your distance classroom.) You will come away with concrete steps to share with students about how to register to vote in Arizona (or support others to do so), learn the issues, think critically about candidates, vote, and stay engaged after the election.

Registration Ends: October 8, 2020

*This event will be hosted in WebEx and a link will be sent out to registered participants, two (2) days prior to the session beginning.
