Assessing Secondary Writing (Secondary ELA Professional Learning Webinar)

Join the ADE English Language Arts Team for a FREE Secondary ELA Focused deep dive into best practices for assessing writing in the secondary grades. Everyone is welcome!

Along with reading comprehension, writing skill is a predictor of academic achievement and essential for success in postsecondary education and beyond. Our students in grades 6-12 especially need help finding success with writing as they progress towards adulthood.

In this webinar, educators will: examine and break down the 6-12th grade writing standards for the production and distribution of writing, explore evidence-based best practices for assessing student writing, and collaborate with other secondary educators to reflect on current teaching practice and how to incorporate their learning into their classrooms.

Participants must register for the session in the ADE APLD. All participants who register in APLD and attend the webinar will be given 1.5 hours PD credit. Certificates will only be available in APLD and no record of attendance will be emailed.

Webinar link will be individually emailed to registrants the day of the webinar. Registration closes at 12 PM the day of the professional learning session.
