May 14, 2022

Saturday, May 14th: Math for Early Learners (PreK-K)

For this TREC webinar, we have partnered with the Center for Recruitment and Retention of Mathematics Teachers (CRR).  The webinar will focus on Math for Early Learners including concepts of shape, space, sound, and symbol across mathematics and reading AND story-telling as a development of problem posing.

This webinar will have two sessions included in the day. We are presenting Math for Early Learners on two separate days, each with two sessions in the day.  These will be held on May 14th and May 21st.  Participants can attend one or both days. You must register separately for each day.  To view and/or register for the Math for Early Learners session on May 21st, view here: https://bit.ly/38K7XGH

The Geometry of Letters

Young children learn letters, sounds, and numbers in much the same way–both as a symbol and an experience. Come and explore ways in which children can connect shape, space, sound, and symbol across mathematics and reading in a fun and engaging way.

Problem Posing in Preschool: Connecting Storytelling to Mathematics

Young children love to tell stories, and they learn the structure of stories by telling them. Come and explore ways that your learners can story-tell (problem pose) as young learners, supporting their development of part and whole, putting together, and taking apart.
