Redefining Support: Educator Accomplices Working Alongside Undocumented Youth

April 29, 2021

Through active facilitation, educators will begin their commitment to actively supporting Undocumented youth in their schools. In this workshop, participants will identify ways that they can shift from having a passive allyship mindset,  into becoming an active accomplice working with and for Undocumented students and their families.

Facilitators will support participants to move beyond wearing an “I support Undocumented students” t-shirt to being an accomplice who wears an “I support Undocumented students” t-shirt while committing to always asking “Is this accessible to Undocumented students and if not, how can we make it accessible?”

Who should come?

Any educator, support staff, school administrator, or community advocate who wants to better understand the ways that they can be an accomplice by creating campuses that are liberating for all students, regardless of immigration status.

Participants will receive:

  • Terminology
  • Policy 101
  • 1.5 Hours of Professional Development per workshop
