Social-Emotional Learning and Trauma-Informed Teaching

July 6, 2022

This series focuses on building a classroom environment where everyone can thrive. During challenging times, teachers are just as important as students. Through a trauma-informed teaching lens, teachers create a healing environment where those who have suffered varied levels of trauma (or a deeply distressing experience) will feel supported, valued, and empowered. By embedding strategies for social-emotional learning within your everyday teaching practice, students will develop the skills to understand and manage their emotions, demonstrate empathy for others, and practice reasoned decision-making. Learn how you can make your classroom a place where you and your students want to be together.
