SpongeBob SquarePants has been on the air since 1999 and with 271 episodes and counting, there is almost limitless content that can be brought into the economics classroom. It is well known that incorporating visual media into the classroom enhances traditional approaches to teaching and learning economics. Well-chosen clips from popular TV shows can effectively illustrate economic concepts, hook students into the material, and support improved student recall. Participants will watch clips, discuss economic content, receive tips on how to integrate effectively, and obtain access to a database listing the clips for their use in the classroom. Designed for grades 4-8.
