Teaching About the Holocaust: Support and Resources from the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum

February 15, 2022

Teaching about the Holocaust provides an opportunity to advance historical thinking skills and engages students in thinking critically about individuals’ choices in the past and their own choices today. The topic also can be challenging because of the complicated and emotional nature of the historical material.

Join educators from the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in a webinar that answers your questions about approaches and appropriate resources and prepares you to teach this sensitive history. The presenters will demonstrate how the museum’s Guidelines for Teaching about the Holocaust and related lessons provide a framework for sound instruction and easy integration into existing curricula. You will leave the training with a sense of confidence, actionable lessons, and related primary source materials for use in both ELA and Social studies classes. The webinar is free as are all resources that will be highlighted and used in the training.
