Technical Reading & Performance Literacy

January 19, 2022

What do you guess is the number 1 desirable skill that the Arizona workforce is looking for in a new employee? Communication skills! This 2-day class will teach you strategies that integrate reading, writing, and speaking opportunities into your program. Day-one focuses on literacy and closely examines the Career and College Readiness Standards (CCRS) Reading Standards. You will determine where they are relevant in your curriculum, examine vocabulary strategies, learn about fluency and Lexile scores, and participate in a close reading lesson. Day two focuses on CCRS Writing and Speaking Standards to determine where they naturally fit into your curriculum. Also, you will discover how CTSOs support these standards and provide a perfect opportunity to practice these skills.
