The Tucson Festival of Books goes virtual March 6-7, 2021! The Children’s and Teen sessions will be available on-line and live at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. Arizona time. Worlds of Worlds: Center of Global Literacies and Literatures has been involved with the festival since its inception, and we will continue this year as your guide. With three stages and four-time slots, attendees can select from 12 sessions each day. Hard choices will be made! Stage 1 features interactive sessions with children’s authors and illustrators. Some of these are panels, such as Rick Riordan Present authors and GraphixCon creators, while others involve bringing your pencils, papers, and Lego for an interaction with an author or illustrator. Stage 2 features panels of children’s authors and illustrators of picture books and middle-grade novels around themes such as story and imagination, fantasy journeys, cultural identity, hope and comfort, and healing. Stage 3 features panels of young adult authors who will talk about themes of magic and intrigue, imposters, heartbreak, survival and hope, sports and equity, and fantasy worlds.
On the day of the festival, visit tucsonfestivalofbooks.org and find their grid of events. Then click on the link for the session you want to attend. Enter the session at least 5 minutes early if you’ve never registered with Crowdcast. It’s a quick process and at that point, attendees will go right into the session. The grid is not live just yet, so you may have to check back.
