Using Rubrics to Increase Student Success

March 9, 2022

CTE courses are performance-based. When teachers let students know exactly how their work will be evaluated, the students’ level of performance always improves. In this class, you will participate in an activity, then see how knowing the rubric beforehand would have made a positive difference in your performance. Several types of rubrics that are effective for different assignments will be discussed. You will also create a rubric for one of your own student projects with guided support and feedback. Bring an assignment for one of your student projects and your current grading criteria for that project to use when creating a rubric during this practical day.
