“Diversifying Your Classroom” with Sherard Robbins

Description:

In his 1-hour presentation, Sherard will explore the various ways teachers can utilize diversity and inclusion strategies to implement diversity and inclusion into the classroom experience.

Sherard is the associate director of equity and inclusion for community engagement in the College of Education. In his role, Robbins works with the College of Education and the Graduate College to ensure that best practices regarding diversity, equity, and inclusion are being met at all levels. From student, staff, and faculty recruitment and retention, to cultivating external partnerships and burgeoning opportunities through grant writing, Robbins aims to keep the university at the forefront of inclusive excellence by continuously enhancing EDI efforts internally and externally. Along with his work as a professional, Robbins is equally a life-long learner. He is set to complete his doctoral work in higher education with a focus on organizational development, and his law degree with a focus on workplace discrimination and constitutional law.
