This will be an exciting opportunity to bring the educator community together to celebrate our successes/accomplishments and learn from each other!
The TREC Teacher Leaders are planning the summit, as we continue to make sure our efforts are teacher-led. This event is for you!
In Person Workshops and Sessions
The agenda will include a keynote, workshops/sessions, lunch, and an educator panel/discussion. The workshops/sessions will be approximately 70 minutes in length. See agenda below.
Keynote Speakers
TREC is thrilled to announce the keynote speakers for the 2023 June Summit. This year we welcome both the 2022 National Teacher of the Year, Kurt Russell, and Arizona’s Top 10 Teacher of the Year, Jaime Camero.
Kurt Russell, 2022 National Teacher of the Year

A 25-year veteran of the classroom, Kurt Russell teaches history at Oberlin High School in Oberlin, Ohio, where he was born and raised. Kurt is the head coach for the school’s varsity basketball team and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in history and a minor in Black studies from the College of Wooster and a Master of Education in curriculum and instruction from Ashland University. Jaime Camero, NBCT
Jaime is a Top 10 Arizona Teacher of the Year, a Raytheon Leaders in Education Award Recipient, and a TREC Teacher Leader! She is a 6th grade science teacher at Douglas Elementary in the Flowing Wells School District.

The Summit will be held at the University of Arizona campus at the ENR2 building, a beautiful building on campus that is designed to look like a slot canyon.
