Arizona Public Media

Arizona Public Media (AZPM) educates, informs, and inspires by bringing people and ideas together. In an effort to support lifelong learning, AZPM provides free workshops to schools, education groups, and community organizations focused on free PBS educational resources for grades pre-K to 12.

Our free workshops feature a variety of PBS educational resources (all free) that can be utilized in the classroom and at home: PBS Learning Media (a digital library with 33,000 high-quality videos, lesson plans, and activities), PBS KIDS, PBS Parents, KQED Media Literacy Certification, and other educational programs. Workshops can also feature classroom integration strategies. These workshops are specifically tailored to the needs of the organization and can range from 30 minutes to 90 minutes.

Included are links to some of the resources that can be featured in the workshop:

Workshops are led by Cheryl Gerken, a former bilingual teacher and librarian in the Tucson Unified School District. She holds a BA in Spanish and an MA in Language, Reading and Culture from the University of Arizona. She also holds a K-8 Reading Endorsement.
