Mindful Matters

Being Mindful Matters

Mindful Matters provides interactive experiences and opportunities to develop everyday mindfulness skills and engage in mindful learning.

Mindful Matters offers two opportunities for learning about mindfulness which promote your growth, self-care habits and resilience as you support others. Attend by yourself, with colleagues and friends, or request an event for your team, cohort, or study group.

Mindfulness and Meditation

“Mindfulness and Meditation” meets for 5 weeks in 90-minute, online sessions.  Each week, students learn new strategies for meditation and being mindful through demonstration and discussion.  Between classes, students practice each day, read from the text, check in with the instructor and begin to experience the benefits of daily mindfulness.  There is a supplementary text and an app that support learning and keeping track of progress.

TaikoMIND: There’s nothing quiet about this mindful experience

Discover how mindfulness can be applied to learning while playing taiko – Japanese ensemble drumming.  TaikoMIND workshops are interactive, playful and energizing. Activities, games and self-reflection support the learning process while connections to real-world applications are emphasized.  Taiko drumming is irresistible fun – and easy to learn.  It is a perfect venue for learning about culture, music, performance art, team building and mindfulness.  No experience required.  All welcome!

About Holly Cuff:

Holly’s interest in teaching mindfulness and meditation to others has been inspired by her work as a teacher in public schools along with her personal experience in becoming a meditator.  She’s discovered that mindfulness and meditation provide great insight into understanding how to help with stress and anxiety, and also increase a sense of well-being.  Since 2017, she has been teaching mindfulness and meditation as an exciting and satisfying way to engage with her community and share life skills with people of all ages (5-100!).  Holly is a certified Koru/MIEA Mindfulness Instructor.

Holly created the TaikoMIND framework for mindful learning as a way to combine her love of taiko, Japanese ensemble drumming, with her expertise as an instructor and her passion for sharing mindfulness.  It has been a powerful way to teach life lessons that reach beyond any classroom setting.  Holly’s career as a public educator and her experiences as a taiko player and meditator have inspired this opportunity for hands-on, engaged learning.
