The Environmental Education (EE) program is rooted in the Sonoran Desert Conservation Plan. The principal goals of the EE team are to provide meaningful experiences that promote Sonoran Desert conservation, elevate environmental and cultural resource literacy, and foster a lasting connection with nature through exploration, discovery, and mindful observation.
Our team hosts three, two-day STEM teacher workshops organized by grade bands. Using interrelationships and change as our overarching themes, we’ll explore topics like aquatic ecosystems, pollinators and habitats, bats, and geology. Workshops are inquiry based, discovery driven, with an emphasis on data collection and analysis.
Also, we can offer 1-2 hour in-service programs for schools or grade level teams on environmental science content areas upon request and availability.
