Tucson Values Teachers

Great Teachers. Successful Students. Prosperous Community.

Tucson Values Teachers (TVT) is a partnership of business leaders, educators and individuals with a shared mission to inspire support of PreK-12 teachers in Southern Arizona through community collaborations that attract, retain, and celebrate teacher excellence. We recognize the critical role teachers play in student achievement and the vital influence they have on the future of Tucson and our region. Through our work, we seek to raise public awareness of the value of the teaching profession and provide a range of programs to support teachers professionally and financially. We also leverage our partnerships with the Southern Arizona Leadership Council and other business and education groups to advocate for funding and policies that positively impact teachers, students and schools.

Tucson Supplies Teachers will run from July 12, 2021 to September 30, 2021. Teachers can sign up for a chance to receive a Jonathan’s Educational Resources gift certificate starting July 12. Tucson Supplies Teachers has become the largest school supply drive in the region! For 2021, we’re collaborating with community partners to help offset the $500 to $1,000 teachers spend out of their own pockets each year for much-needed school supplies. Since its inception, Tucson Supplies Teachers has delivered more than $1.2 million to help teachers purchase the items they need for their students and classrooms.

Stand Up 4 Teachers is a celebration of education champions featuring the presentation of the Spirit of Education Award, honoring businesses that make significant investments in education, along with the Raytheon Leaders in Education Award, honoring exceptional PreK-12 teachers. This year’s Stand Up 4 Teachers event will be held on Nov. 3, 2021. The Raytheon Leaders in Education Award recognizes and rewards PreK-12 teachers in Pima County who demonstrate excellence in teaching, leadership, and support for their peers. Teachers must submit an application and complete an essay and interview. Recipients receive $2,500 for themselves, as well as $2,500 for their school, sponsored by Raytheon Missiles and Defense. All finalists also join the TVT Teacher Advisory Council.
