Bullying prevention requires more than reactive discipline practices or one-time assemblies. Schools need comprehensive, sustainable systems that teach expectations, build positive school climate, respond effectively to bullying behavior, and support students impacted by bullying.
This interactive three-hour workshop will provide participants with a practical framework for preventing and intervening in bullying through a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) approach.
Participants will examine key practices to prevent bullying, interventions to use when bullying occurs, and evidence-based response practices that prioritize student safety, accountability, skill-building, and prevention of future bullying behavior.
The workshop will focus on aligning bullying prevention efforts across Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 supports, including universal prevention strategies, targeted interventions for students at risk, and individualized responses for students involved in repeated bullying incidents. Attendees will also explore strategies for staff response consistency, student skill instruction, data-based decision making, and family collaboration.
Through case examples, collaborative activities, and implementation planning, participants will leave with actionable tools they can immediately apply within schools and districts to strengthen school climate, reduce bullying behaviors, and improve student outcomes.
