Applying for Competitive Teachers’ Grants and Programs

This webinar aims to assist teachers who want to apply for nationally-competitive teachers’ grants and/or professional development programs. It was be conducted by the University of Arizona Center for Middle Eastern Studies Director of Educational Outreach, Dr. Lisa Adeli, who has plenty of experience in this area! Both as a teacher and as someone who creates programs for teachers, she has personally applied to – and received – many nationally-competitive professional development opportunities. (For example, she is a teacher-fellow with the US Holocaust Memorial Museum, the US Institute of Peace, the National World War I Museum – and a US State Department alumna from a previous revamped/renamed teachers’ program.) As someone who also writes grants (often successfully!) to fund her own programs (for example, Fulbright-Hays Group Projects Abroad, National Endowment for the Humanities summer institutes, etc.), she has frequently been on the selection committees reading teacher applications. She has some insights to share from both perspectives.  For a link to the session, go to: https://cmes.arizona.edu/outreach/webinar-applying%20for%20teachers%27%20grants
