Tucson Children’s Project is hosting a PD with Demaris Weitzel, PreK Teacher and Studio Coordinator at the JCC.
Demaris will share her process of beginning to establish a Studio within the context of the JCC program. This is a work in progress and offers an opportunity to examine the why and how to begin.
This is a highly participatory workshop that is free, that is inclusive,and is focused on young children infants through prek.
We invite participants to bring an item that you would introduce to young children, such as mark making tools, natural materials,assorted paper, fabric, etc. The intention is to share ideas and strategies for engaging the very young child in exploring, experiencing and narrating their observations.
Your item will be left as a gift to the Studio and in return you will leave with inspired strategies to bring to your own program.
This will be an in person/hands on workshop in her Studio at the JCC – 3800 E. River Road
