Community of Practice Cohort 2:Helping Students Make Sense of the World

February 26, 2025

Using a Communities of Practice (CoP) model, we will work together to deepen our understanding of the sensemaking Science and Engineering Practices (SEPs): analyzing and interpreting data, developing and using modelts, and construction explanations, as outlined in Helping Students Sense of the World Using Next Generation Science & Engineering Practices by editors Christina Schwarz, Cynthia Passmore, and Brian Reiser. On March 19th, Kristin Hunter-Thomson from Dataspire will be joining us as an expert keynote. We will begin meeting through Zoom starting in February with our final meeting in April. As CoP, we will be practicing strategies, sharing ideas about what works, learning from others and growing together.
