When classrooms are arranged and managed in a developmentally appropriate way that is responsive to children’s needs, there are fewer incidents of challenging behaviors and the likelihood of preschool expulsions are reduced. In this 2-hour module, participants will learn three early intervention strategies that make up an effective classroom environment as well as help to prevent challenging behaviors. The benefits for children when these strategies are used to create a predictable and orderly learning environment will also be discussed. They will recognize the connection between Effective Classroom Management and Expulsion Prevention. Technical assistance is available after completion of this course.
