Empowering Excellence: Innovative 3-Dimensional Strategies for Science Classrooms with Paul Andersen- Secondary Cohort

January 31, 2026

The Arizona Department of Education (ADE), in partnership with Salt River Project (SRP), is excited to offer your team a powerful professional development opportunity featuring world-renowned science educator Paul Andersen. This experience equips K–12 educators with 3D instructional strategies centered around energy as a unifying theme. Participants will engage in hands-on investigations, data analysis, and structured argumentation. Through inquiry-based learning and collaborative planning, teachers will leave empowered to transform their classrooms with engaging mini-lessons that spark curiosity, critical thinking, and real-world problem solving.

This professional development opportunity is designed for schools and districts to attend in teams of 3–5 educators. Why teams? Because collaboration is at the heart of sustainable change. When teams learn together, they build a shared understanding, strengthen their collective capacity, and are better equipped to implement new strategies with consistency and support. Attending as a team ensures that the learning doesn’t stay with one individual—it becomes part of a broader school or district-wide vision. Teams can reflect together, plan together, and return to their sites ready to lead together. Let’s grow stronger, together!

Teams will register for the grade-band-specific cohort that best aligns with their instructional focus.
Note: 6th grade teams may choose either cohort based on their school’s grade configuration.
