In this hands-on workshop we will explore the foundational concepts of fractions through engaging, interactive methods. Participants will learn how to effectively use manipulatives, powerful visual models, and strategic questioning techniques to deepen students’ understanding of fractions as part of activities that can be easily integrated into the classroom. The workshop will cover key topics such as fraction equivalence and comparison, providing practical strategies to help students build a robust and intuitive sense of fractions. By the end of the workshop, teachers will be equipped with a toolkit of resources and approaches to foster a strong fractions foundation in their students, paving the way for future success in mathematics.
