Brain breaks are essential pauses in classroom routines, giving students opportunities to recharge and refocus their minds. They incorporate physical movements like stretching, aerobic activities, and yoga to enhance blood flow and oxygen delivery to the brain. They also include mindfulness exercises or music to promote relaxation, emotional regulation, and breathing, fostering an engaged and supportive learning environment.
ADE’s Assistive Technology Team has compiled a Padlet with a list of resources to assist teachers in accessing brain breaks, movement, breathwork, and other ideas they can incorporate into their classrooms.
