Helping Students Make Sense of the World

Using a Community of Practices (CoP) model, we will work together to deepen our
understanding of the critiquing Science and Engineering practices (SEPs): 1) Evaluating in argument from evidence, and 2) Obtaining, evaluating, and communicating information as outlined in Helping Students Make Sense of the World Using Next Generation Science and Engineering Practices, edited by Christina Schwarz, Cynthis Passmore, and Brian Reiser. On May 7, we will be joined by keynote speaker, Dr. Joseph Krajcik, distinguished professor from Michigan State University, College of Natural Science. Our final session will focus on scientific literacy and putting it all together” as we plan for the upcoming school year.
