The ISTE Educator Certification Program focuses on pedagogy, not tools or devices. ISTE Certified Educators demonstrate mastery of the ISTE Standards for Educators (which is aligned to ISTE Standards for Students -Arizona Student EdTech Standards are aligned to the ISTE Standards). The program is designed to expand your educational practice, whether you provide learning to school-aged learners or professional development to adult learners.
It has two (2) phases.
Phase 1: The first phase is the online portion with synchronous and asynchronous portions. Here’s our schedule for the June session with approximately 40 hours of professional learning over 10 weeks
Phase 2: Complete and Submit Your Certification Portfolio
- Six months’ access to prepare and submit your final portfolio submission aligned to the ISTE Standards for Educators
- Commit to at least 40 hours’ curation time including attending office hours and accessing support resources
- Successfully align your instructional practices to all 25 ISTE Educator Standards Criteria
- Earn 20 out of 25 aligned criteria to become an ISTE Certified Educator for a 3-year period
