K-5 ELA Book Study: Overcoming Dyslexia (2026) Week 5

Join the ADE English Language Arts Team for a FREE ELA Dyslexia Focused 9-week book study. Tuesdays from 4:30-5:30 (1/13 through 3/10). Everyone is welcome!

Text: Overcoming Dyslexia: Second Edition by Sally Shaywitz, M.D. and Jonathan Shaywitz, M.D. 

Discover practical insights and research-based strategies that every educator needs to support students with dyslexia. This book study goes beyond theory—Drs. Shaywitz dismantle common myths and replace them with clear, actionable knowledge grounded in 21st-century science. You’ll gain tools to identify signs early, understand the reading brain, and implement interventions that truly make a difference. Their decades of experience bring compassion and clarity, empowering teachers to create inclusive classrooms where all learners thrive.

Participants must register for each week’s session individually. All participants who register in APLD, read their chapter, and attend the book study will be given 2-hours PD credit. Certificates will be in APLD and no record of attendance will be emailed.

Webinar link will be individually emailed to registrants the day of the webinar, as long as you register by 12 PM the day of. Otherwise you will need to access the link directly from APLD.
