Life Beyond Earth: A Space Adventure for K-2

July 24, 2025

Join us for a 60-minute webinar on space exploration, our solar system, and the planets beyond! This session is designed for K-2 teachers who are looking to incorporate playful, interactive science lessons into their curriculum, and learn about the cutting edge science of astrobiology.

In this session, you will:

✅ Learn about the science of astrobiology and the “big questions” that astrobiologists explore.

✅ Examine how biology, astronomy, and chemistry all intertwine in this fascinating branch of science.

✅ Identify the benefits of using play-based learning as a teaching strategy.

✅ Learn about the four different science kits available for checkout.

All teachers in the Tucson metro area that complete this free webinar are eligible to check out our science kits! Each of the four kits contains all of the supplies you need to complete the lessons, such as LEGOs, kinetic sand, microscopes, and craft materials. You can choose to do just one kit or all four (for a total of 12 lessons). All student materials are available in both English and Spanish.

These kits were developed using funding from the Marshall Foundation in Spring 2025. The Arizona Astrobiology Center collaborated with 5 TUSD teachers in K-2, and play-based expert Dr. Sung eun Jung, to develop these evidence-based learning modules.
