Managing Transitions: Making the Most of Uncertainty

“It isn’t the changes that do you in, it’s the transitions.”
William Bridges

Who among us could have imagined that our school year would look like this? As educators, our professional practice relies on plans, on routines, on relationships, and on a myriad of other elements that are not only turned upside down, they are not even standing still enough to reclaim.

In this session, we will use the framework offered by William Bridges for managing transitions to understand and process the emotional and psychological impacts of these intense times. Learning about the three phases of transitions can help us to normalize the constant ups and downs of loss and uncertainty and help us make the most of whatever comes our way.
