Narcan Trainings

Overdose Response Training A basic 45 minute training that teaches attendees how to recognize the signs of an opioid overdose and how to administer the intranasal spray version of naloxone (Narcan). Great as a refresher or for groups who only need to know the essentials to respond and help save a life. Upon completion, Narcan nasal spray is provided for participants to carry for life-saving emergencies.

Harm Reduction Training A longer 75 min presentation that covers all the foundational information from the Overdose Response Training  and expands on the key values of harm reduction and it’s history in health care and community safety. Attendees will learn and identify examples of exisiting harm reduction strategies already used in everyday life and relate the concepts to apply to persons who use drugs and are at a high risk of an overdose. Presenters will discuss current overdose trends and current information that pertains to our specific community. Attendees will leave with an understanding of how to test drugs for fentanyl, how to recognize an overdose, how to use Narcan and can leave with a kit containing life saving Narcan nasal spray.
