Outdoor Classrooms Design Workshop for Pre-K

Immerse yourself in a hands-on course designed to unlock the transformative potential of outdoor play in preschoolers’ development.  Educators will be empowered with the key principles of child-led learning in an outdoor classroom setting.  They will explore the main components of an outdoor classroom, discover ingenious sourcing techniques for loose parts, learn effective material storage and maintenance, and embrace the magic of play-based learning principles.

  • When: Saturday, April 13, 2024, from 9:00 AM to noon (check-in starts at 8:30 AM)
  • Where: Keen Studio, 2133 S Palo Verde Ave, Tucson, AZ 85713 (map)
  • Who: for Pre-K educators/administrators; facilitated by Kyla Maciosek, founder of Nature Created PlayCapacity is limited to 30 participants.  First come, first served.

 

Participants who register for and attend the workshop will receive a $100 stipend and a certificate documenting professional learming hours

This professional learning opportunity is a partnership between Nature Created Play, Tucson Children’s Project, Child Parent Centers, United Way of Tucson & Southern Arizona, and TREC — with generous funding provided by the Helios Education Foundation.
