The key to helping students understand and successfully solve word problems is to help them visualize and make sense of the problem. They need to be able to decide the overall “structure” and determine the relationships involved in any given problem. Participants will learn how to help students read the word problem closely, represent their thinking, use specific tools to support problem-solving, and much more. Come and explore new mathematical ideas through the use of problem-solving.
In-Person ONLY in Gilbert, Arizona at Chaparral Elementary School
**NOTE: Participants will be expected to take a task back to their classrooms, collect and analyze student work, and share their reflections with the CRR.
