We invite high school physics, chemistry, and STEM educators from your school to participate in a free Quantum Science Teachers Workshop, held August 10-13, 2026, from 5:00-6:30 p.m. each evening at the University of Arizona’s Wyant College of Optical Sciences in Tucson.
Participants will explore standards based contents through hands-on activities: matter and atomic structure, standing waves and the Bohr model, refraction and optical density, Planck’s constant, and superposition and interference in optical devices. The activities are designed to help teachers bring modern physics into their classrooms in a practical and engaging way.
The workshop will be led by Prof. Karen Jo Matsler, who is an expert in bringing quantum science education to classrooms.
Teachers will receive:
- A stipend for participation
- Classroom demonstrations and materials
- Dinner each evening
- Standards-based activities that can be incorporated into high school courses
