Social Emotional Development for School Age Children- Understanding how school age children build social emotional skills

This training will identify the definition and key concepts of social-emotional development as well as brain development. We will be discussing the specific social-emotional stages for ages 5-13 and looking at age-appropriate behaviors, characteristics, possible needs, and how teachers can meet the child’s needs. We will also be touching on strategies to increase social-emotional development and best support school-aged children that help prevent expulsion and suspension. Technical assistance is available after attendance in this training.
