Supporting Kids in Foster Care: Understanding and Healing through Center-Based Care Programs

Supporting kids in foster care includes understanding the widespread impact of children in out-of-home placements in Arizona and potential needs that children in out of home placements may have in the classroom. Awareness of the needs of children in out-of-home placements within the classroom setting supports caregivers in increasing understanding and partnerships with children, parents, and families. This 2-hour module provides participants increased understanding in how supporting kids in out-of-home placements helps to reduce challenging behaviors and suspensions and expulsion, as well as information on other professionals that may be involved, provides strategies to consider in applying concepts to the classroom. Technical Assistance is available after attendance in this training.
