Positive teacher-child relationships are the first step in preventing challenging behavior that can lead to expulsion. In this two-hour module, participants will learn what a positive teacher-child relationship means and why it is important to a child’s social, emotional, and behavioral development; discuss why it is important for teachers to follow two important steps as they begin to develop a positive relationship with a child before moving to other interventions that will support their social skills, and explore strategies that can be used to help build positive relationships. Technical assistance is available after attending this training.
