In this two-hour module, participants will reflect on the important role they have as effective early childhood professionals to be aware of the importance of children’s development. They will learn about tools that will help them build partnerships with family members built on trust and respect while also building the teacher/director relationship. The participants will study important resources and tools and learn how to best use these tools to determine if the children in their care are on track in their development. Participants will recognize the importance of monitoring each child’s development from birth up to age five by reassuring family members when their child is on track and meeting their developmental milestones. They can also provide extra support and resources when needed. Understanding children’s developmental milestones and building a partnership with families begins the process of building a foundation that can help to reduce the need for children’s suspensions and expulsions.
Technical assistance is available after attendance in this training.
