Join panelists as they share information and strategies for both yours and your students’ well-being. These professionals, including educators, will discuss vocational wellness, suicide/depression, COVID related anxiety , and developing strategies for self-care. Tim Grivois will lead this diverse group of panelist. The panelists will each share at least one strategy that you can use this summer or as you begin preparing for the 2021-2022 school year.
Tim Grivois, Ed.D., founded TGS Educational Consulting in March of 2020 because he wanted to spend his days doing what he loves: Learning as much as he can and helping others learn and grow (children and marginalized first and most of all).
Prior to TGS Educational Consulting, Tim was the Director of Professional Learning at CITY Center for Collaborative Learning. Before that, he served as elementary school principal in Tucson Unified School District in Arizona, and assistant principal in District 63 in Niles, Illinois. The heart of his career has been teaching third and fourth grade.
Tim earned his Masters in Elementary Education and Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Loyola University Chicago. He currently lives in Tucson, Arizona. When Tim is not keeping busy helping his clients increase the good they do (and to do it justly and equitably), you can find him reading, playing with his three kids, or zoning out to Netflix. He is also thinking about getting a chicken coop and a really big dog.
About the Panelists:
Charlotte Peper is a fifth generation Tucson Native, a mother and grandmother. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor, a clinical supervisor, an internationally certified Transactional Analysis Practitioner, A Sex Trafficking Research Trainer through ASU, a member of the National Organization of Women, a Centennial Whose Who Awardee and an Eden Associate. She is also a traditional healer who accompanies medicine people on the reservations to heal those who have experienced traumatic losses. She currently works at Jewish Family and Children Services in a multi-faceted role as the Clinical Program Development and Outreach Manager, Clinical Supervisor, has a client caseload, and manages the intern program. Charlotte uses Capacitar techniques every day in both her personal and professional life.
Chris Segrin, Ph.D. is a behavioral scientist whose specialty is interpersonal relationships and mental health. His research focuses on social skills, relationship development and satisfaction, and such problems as depression, anxiety, loneliness, and marital distress. He is a published author, editor and is an Adjunct Professor of Psychology and Family Studies at the University of Arizona. Professor Segrin has been the recipient of six teaching awards from various universities.
Xochitl Hosmer is an early childhood educator and First grade teacher at Sonoran Science Academy. She is also a TREC Teacher Leader in Cohort 1 and an expert in her field.
Tessa Brock is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and is Infant/Toddler Mental Health Endorsed Level III (IMH-E III). She has previously been the Mental Health Coordinator for Child-Parent Centers for over 19 years where a significant part of her role was supporting classroom teachers, home visitors, coaches, and parents with social emotional development for children, to include creating practices of prevention and intervention for children and families. She now actively trains, consults, and partners with professional organizations and schools (Prekindergarten through 12th grade) to enhance relationship-based, trauma informed skills and strategies used with professionals, students, and parents. She is a certified trainer for Crucial Conversations, CLASS PreK and Toddler.
