Cultivating Curiosity: Approaches to Science in Early Childhood ECHO

This FREE virtual Community of Practice (CoP) will equip early childhood educators with practical, developmentally appropriate strategies to nurture curiosity, inquiry, and hands-on scientific thinking in young children.  Aligned with Arizona early learning science standards, we will dive into children’s scientific thinking, provide materials/resources, and build on joyful curiosity!

This CoP is a partnership between TREC and Project Echo.

Participants will…

  • Explore their personal attitudes towards science and build confidence in offering science-based learning.
  • Build a library of activities, books, and resources designed specifically for their classroom.
  • Deepen their knowledge around the AZ early childhood science standards.
  • Have monthly access to experts and other educators in the field.

DETAILS  

When: Thursdays, every 3 weeks, August thru December, 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM.

Where: The meetings are virtual via Zoom — you can join in the comfort of your classroom, home, or other quiet space.

Who: This CoP is designed for Early Childhood Educators in Arizona who teach and/or support ages 2 – 5-year-old.  Teachers are charged no cost to participate.
