Cultural Competency

October 27, 2020

This 2-hour training explores the importance of becoming a culturally competent educator.

The early childhood classroom is an ideal time to focus on culture. As educators, we need to understand the connection and value culture plays in young children’s development and learning. In this session, we will explore culture and learning through teacher, family, and child perspectives. We will define what culture means to you and the families you work with and how literature and the environment easily lend themselves to being a culturally competent educator.
