San Xavier Underground Mine Tour

Imagine the thrill of exploring an underground mine with your students! Your classroom is in for a treat with a free field trip to our mine in Sahuarita, Arizona. We provide students with an immersive experience where students can learn about mining and it’s critical role in our society.

Our tours are typically in the morning and, depending on your group size, can take anywhere from 1.5 to 3.5 hours including an introductory presentation, a tour of the old underground mine workings, and a tour of the new decline.

Please note that only 15 people can be accommodated underground at a time, so groups larger than 15 will be spilt up into multiple underground tour groups.
