The SELECT program offered by NAU’s Institute for Human Development and sponsored by the Arizona Department of Education is an excellent option for educational professionals to complete professional development hours on their own time in a graduate-level learning environment. Classes are fully online, asynchronous courses on topics in Special Education that run for 5 weeks at a time. Candidates can take SELECT classes for free as a professional growth student; seat hour certificates awarded to those who finish will be accepted by the Arizona Department of Education Certification Unit towards the professional development requirements for certificate renewal. SELECT seat hour certificates are also accepted for salary schedule advancement/placement at certain Arizona public school districts, check with your HR department.
