Setting Up and Teaching Small Group Reading for All Students K-5

This course will focus on the Science of Reading approach to literacy. Participants will learn about grade-level appropriate assessments, analyze data and use it to create instructional groups, and discuss the sequence of skills necessary for all students to become fluent readers. In addition, participants will evaluate materials for groups, learn how to set up a schedule to maximize instructional time for all students, and create a research-based routine to use in reading groups. To get the most out of this course, it is recommended that participants sign up with a grade-level colleague. You will receive the UFLI Foundations Book to support Tier 2 instruction.
